WLAN Expansion bietet folgende Funktionen:
-Suche nach verfügbaren Adaptern und drahtlosen Netzwerken
-Verbindung zum gewählten Netzwerk, Erstellung von Ad-hoc-Netzwerken
-Unterstützung von allen Verschlüsselungsarten: WPE, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA2-PSK
Umfangreiche Assistenten:
-Startassistent: hilft bei der Verbindung mit einem bestehenden Ad-hoc-Netzwerk oder beim Erstellen eines eigenen Netzwerks. Drei Verbindungsarten werden dabei angeboten:
-Internetverbindung - nachdem alle Einstellungen vorgenommen wurden prüft der Assistent, ob eine Internetverbindung besteht
-LAN-Verbindung - der Assistent hilft unter anderem, die Einstellung der Freigaben vorzunehmen, um den Datentransfer zwischen den Rechnern im LAN zu ermöglichen. Diese Einstellungen können in einer Datei gespeichert werden
-Verbindung - die gespeicherten Einstellungen werden eingelesen und eine Verbindung wird eingerichtet
-Positionierungsassistent: ermittelt den optimalen Aufstellort von kabellosen Geräten und Antennen
-Datenverkehr-Assistent: legt die Beschränkungen beim Datentransfer fest Beim Überschreiten der Einschränkungen löst das Programm Alarm aus
-Sniffer-Tool: spürt alle verfügbaren Drahtlos-Netzwerke auf und stellt diese mit den wichtigsten Informationen zu Vergleichszwecken anschaulich in Listenform dar
-Windows Tweaks-Tool: ändert interne Betriebssystemparameter, die die Produktivität und Funktionalität des Netzwerks beeinflussen
-Hotspots-Datenbank: enthält Hotspots aus aller Welt. Leistungsstarke Such- und Filtermechanismen ermöglichen eine optimale Suche
-Schlüsselgenerator: hilft beim Erstellen von Zufallsschlüsseln für maximale Sicherheit
Favoriten-Manager: verwaltet häufig verwendete Netzwerke. Die Favoriten können in einer Datei gespeichert und auf einen anderen Rechner übertragen werden
Grafische Darstellung der Netzwerke, vorhandener Adapter, bestehender Verbindungen und des Datenverkehrs
