Shortcake 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon shortening 1 tablespoon butter 1/2 cup milk Fresh strawberries Vanilla ice cream
Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening and butter. Add milk, mixing in well with a spoon. Pour mixture into an 8-inch pie plate. Dot with additional butter and sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes. Serve warm topped with strawberries and vanilla ice cream.
