Lady Apple Centerpiece craft Recipe

Lady Apple Centerpiece

Linda's notes: I would spray the outside of the clay pot with gold spray, then let it dry before I started this project. I would also slice a tiny amount off the tip of the cone so that an apple can be inserted on the very top of the "tree."

1 Styrofoam block
1 (12-inch) Styrofoam cone
1 (6-inch) clay flower pot
Bamboo skewers
Glue gun
Clove oil
60 tiny apples, such as Lady Apples
Evergreen trimmings

Cut the foam block so that it fits snugly into the pot. Cut four bamboo skewers into 4-inch lengths. Dab hot blue on one end of each of the four skewers, then poke the glued ends into the bottom of the cone.

Dab hot glue on the exposed ends of the skewers and "plant" the cone in the pot.

Cut more bamboo skewers into 2-inch lengths. Dip one end of each skewer in clove oil and stick it in the bottom of an apple to help preserve it. Then dab the exposed skewer end in hot glue and stick it in the cone, starting at the bottom of the cone, and working around it.

After you have created a circle of apples, take sections of evergreens, cover their cut ends with hot glue, and poke them into gaps between the apples. Work up in circles, alternating between apples and evergreens, until you reach the top of the cone. Fill gaps with evergreens.
