papaya fritters Recipe


Papaya Fritters
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
A grating of fresh nutmeg
2 cups papaya, peeled and cubed
Oil (for frying)
Confectioners’ sugar

Combine flour, milk, egg, sugar, and nutmeg and stir until smooth. Add the papaya and toss to coat. Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil and cook until golden brown. Turn and brown the other side. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners’ sugar.

Serves 4 to 6.
