black and white brownies Recipe


Black and White Brownies
1 cup shortening
2 cups granulated sugar
4 beaten eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 square chocolate, melted

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, flour, salt and vanilla extract. Divide mixture in half. Add one square of chocolate to half of batter. Spread chocolate mix in 13 x 9-inch pan. Cover with vanilla mix. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes.

Topping
1 cup granulated sugar
1 square chocolate, melted
Dash of salt
1/4 cup milk

Combine sugar, 1 square chocolate, salt and milk. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Beat for 30 to 45 seconds. Pour over cooled brownies.
