Description: BroadcastPC delivers interactive media, monitors Web use, and displays advertisements.

BroadcastPC is a program that downloads movie and advertisement clips onto your computer at predetermined intervals. This adware can track your Internet browsing habits so that it can target a particular audience.

The clips and advertisements can be displayed whether you are online or offline. The advertisements are downloaded prior to the scheduled playback time.

Signs of a BroadcastPC infection include the bpc.exe process running in the task manager and from ICMP messages from a.flashpoint.pm.

"BroadcastPC anonymously categorizes the interests of its users, based on
Web browsing usage, in order to deliver Desktop Video that is more
appealing to its users preferences. BroadcastPC simply matches available
Desktop Video content with the browsing preferences of its users. No
data is captured. All browsing preferences remain on the users desktop.
These preferences are used to match available video presentations on the
BroadcastPC servers.

BroadcastPC assigns a Global Unique User ID to each BroadcastPC
application in order to determine how many total active users exist
within the userbase.


BroadcastPC may:

* Deliver high-definition Desktop Video to the computer screen.
* Compare IP address information for Geo-targeting purposes.
* Send multiple files to a BroadcastPC folder on the PC, present these
files to the user and then remove these multimedia files for Digital
Rights Management purposes.
* Deliver accompanying HTML while or after the Desktop Video has played.
* Deliver desktop icons and installation files on the computer that link
to BroadcastPCs Desktop Video broadcasts and Ancillary Services to
enhance and upgrade the experience.
* Upgrade users with the BroadcastPC Auto-Update capability, thereby
enhancing the user experience without the need for its users to
reinstall or confirm the update process."
