Description: ClearSearch is an adware component that periodically contacts the search site, www.clrsch.com, for advertisement-tracking purposes. ClearSearch acts as a browser hijacker and installs adware, however one of its core features is to try and remove the search-hijacking part of other hijackers including Xupiter, HuntBar/MSLink, CommonName, NewDotNet, the iWon toolbar/search assistant and Netword. ClearSearch also has a number of adware type functionality in the form of redirection to certain sites when searching using the address bar. ClearSearch will upload information to its Internet Servers on a daily basis. This process requires that ClearSearch sends a small piece software to your computer. The ClearSearch software reports an “alive” status back to the server once a day to inform it that the software is still running. ClearSearch may also install upgrades or new application files. This allows ClearSearch to update the Application, which may occur without notice to you. ClearSearch collects information about you as well as you system, such as your IP address, keywords and URL errors typed in the address bar, and date and time of this event
